Care mentor & coach
Support newer members of the team as a mentor and coach
With your knowledge and experience of great customer care, you will mentor and coach other care assistants. This role offers an exciting opportunity to progress your career as a care assistant, whilst maintaining that all important relationship with your customers.
A care mentor/coach is someone who;
- is recognised as an expert in providing crucial care and support to customers in all aspects of their daily living and
- has coaching and/or training skills
Being a care mentor/coach for Bluebird Care gives immense job satisfaction. You will provide customers with a bespoke care experience so they can lead fulfilling lives in their own homes. You will also share your dedication and passion for making a real difference to people’s lives with other care assistants. Using your care experience and coaching skills you will assist with the induction and training of care assistants who are either new or who need extra coaching in a particular area. Your expert advice and guidance will help new care assistants carry out their role safely and in line with Bluebird Care’s policies and procedures.
This important role brings challenges as well as rewards. Our customers include people with a wide range of emotional and physical needs. You will have patience, compassion and an ability to listen well, so you can support customers to stay in touch with the things that really matter to them, even on the difficult days. Stamina to meet both the physical and emotional demands of providing care and support is also essential. You could be supporting a young person with a brain injury or a customer who is near the end of their life. The ability to think clearly in a crisis and to keep calm is necessary to provide the best care for our customers.
Our care mentor/coaches are central to the Bluebird Care mission of providing the best homecare services to meet customer needs and preferences. We provide ongoing training so you can keep up to date with best practice together with the support and supervision you need to do your job well.

You must be able to travel between customers’ homes, by providing your own transport.
