Maria's Story (Overseas to Bluebird Care)
Tell us about your background and journey into domiciliary care.
My name is Maria, and I proudly joined the Bluebird Care team in 2023. Before moving to the UK, I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Kuwait. Since joining Bluebird Care, I have had the opportunity to work across both domiciliary and live-in care departments, gaining a well-rounded experience in supporting customers in their homes. My background in nursing prepared me with a deep foundation in patient care, which has been invaluable as I transitioned into the Bluebird Care family here in the UK.
What led you to join Bluebird Care, and how long have you been part of the team?
I wanted to relocate & hoped to join a reputable company in the UK, so I applied at Bluebird Care, and I have now been working at Bluebird Care for 1.5 years.
What does a typical day look like for you as a Care Assistant at Bluebird Care?
Each day starts with making sure I arrive on time for my customers. Being punctual is key because many of my customers rely on structured routines. My tasks vary depending on each customer's needs, from personal care and assistance with daily tasks to providing companionship and emotional support. I aim to bring positivity to every customer visit, making sure they feel seen, cared for, and comfortable. Throughout the day, I travel between customers' homes, helping each person maintain their independence with the support they need.
What kind of training and support have you received since joining Bluebird Care?
Since joining Bluebird Care, I’ve undergone extensive training, including CQC-certified courses that have equipped me to excel in my role.
What do you find most rewarding about your role?
For me, the most rewarding aspect is seeing the happiness and comfort I can bring to my customers. When I see my customers relaxed, cared for, and happy, I know I've done my job well.
What do you think sets Bluebird Care apart from other care providers?

How do you see your career progressing with Bluebird Care?
Looking forward, I’m eager to grow within Bluebird Care and eventually move into a managerial role. I believe the experience I’m gaining now is laying a solid foundation for me to take on more responsibilities and contribute to Bluebird Care’s mission at a higher level.
What advice would you give to someone considering a career in domiciliary care?
To anyone considering a career in domiciliary care, I would advise being patient, punctual, and humble. Domiciliary care requires empathy and respect for each individual’s unique needs.

One of the most important things I've learned here is the value of integrity: “Do what you say and say what you do.”
Emma's Story (From Care Assistant to Registered Manager) -
Emma’s journey with Bluebird Care began over eight years ago when she joined the team as a Care Assistant. From the very start, her dedication, hard work, and deep compassion for those she cared for set her apart. Her genuine commitment to making a difference in people’s lives did not go unnoticed. With her unwavering determination and passion for providing exceptional care, Emma steadily rose through the ranks.
Recognising her leadership potential, she was promoted to Team Leader, where she thrived by inspiring and supporting her colleagues. Her ability to lead with empathy and a strong sense of responsibility led to yet another promotion, this time to Care Supervisor. In this role, Emma continued to excel, going above and beyond to ensure that the highest standards of care were consistently delivered to our customers.
In 2021, after years of dedication and professional growth, Emma achieved a major milestone when she was promoted to the position of Registered Care Manager at Bluebird Care New Forest. In this senior role, she now oversees the operations of the care team, shaping the future of care provision in the region, while continuing to inspire those around her. Emma’s journey is a testament to her relentless pursuit of excellence and her unwavering belief in the power of compassionate care.
