Peter Slough - Managing Director / Owner
Peter’s first experience arranging care was filled with frustration and anxiety due to poor customer service and a lack of support. This inspired him to create a better way. Now, with over a decade of industry experience, he owns and manages three London-based Bluebird Care offices. Prior to embarking on his journey in care, Peter earned a law degree and worked for an NGO in New Delhi, advocating for policy changes to improve lives. This passion for transformative change is reflected in his leadership of Bluebird Care Kensington & Chelsea, which recently merged with the Westminster & City of London branch and are rated as ‘Outstanding’ services by the CQC. Peter’s mission is to empower clients to live well in the comfort of their home by creating the best in-home care and support. He prioritises delivering compassionate, professional care that he would trust for his own family, which is reflective in building his business largely through referrals and recommendations. With Bluebird franchise partner, Tim Rowland-Jones they now operate the largest multi branch franchise business within the Bluebird Care network, providing home care services across Southwest England, Oxfordshire and London.
Melony Fairchild - Operations Director
As Operations Director, Melony plays a vital role in leading and shaping the operations of five Bluebird Care territories, including Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, Kensington & Chelsea, Oxford, Richmond and Twickenham and Westminster and City of London. She is responsible for overseeing all operational functions across the multi franchise network, ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality care services. With direct oversight of all Registered Managers (RMs), Melony ensures that every branch operates efficiently, consistently meeting both internal benchmarks and regulatory standards. In her capacity as the Nominated Individual for the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Melony is instrumental in upholding the highest standards of care and compliance. She works diligently to ensure that the organisation not only meets but exceeds the stringent requirements set by the CQC, safeguarding the well-being of customers and maintaining trust with families. Melony’s journey into the care sector began in 2004 after an accomplished career in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to this she completed vital work for the Cardiff Drugs and Alcohol Unit. Her transition into care was a natural progression, fuelled by a passion for helping others.
Clarissa Courtney - Registered Manager
As the Registered Manager at Bluebird Care Westminster & City of London and Kensington & Chelsea, Clarissa is passionate about providing outstanding care that enables people to live well in the comfort of their own homes. Her role is focused on ensuring those we care for are supported throughout their journey and that the service makes a meaningful difference to their lives. Clarissa joined Bluebird care in 2019 as a Customer Care Manager, before moving into the role of Deputy Manager before becoming Registered Manager in 2020. Having graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Clarissa has worked in the health and social care sector for over 12 years, including supporting adults with learning difficulties. She is dedicated to showcasing the inspirational work in our sector and finding innovative ways to enhance care and support for those in our local communities, so they can live life how they wish.
Nicola Bowditch - Registered Manager
As the Registered Manager of Bluebird Care Westminster & City of London and Kensington & Chelsea, Nicola is responsible for managing, developing and supporting the branches exceptional care team, whilst ensuring high standards of service, quality and compliance. Having cared for her grandparents at a young age, the experience gave Nicola a passion to make a difference. Nicola started with Bluebird Care in 2013 as a Care Assistant and focused on developing her career through a variety of roles, to become Registered Manager in 2017. She is passionate about mentoring teams, enhancing their skills, and promoting professional growth to ensure they provide exceptional, person-cantered care to our customers. With over 17 years of experience working in health and social care, Nicola has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the regulatory framework ensuring her care team is equipped with latest best practice and are skilled to deliver outstanding, high quality home care.
Wednesday Watson - Recruitment Manager
Wednesday is responsible for creating and delivering the recruitment strategy at Bluebird Care’s multi -franchise business, covering branches in the Southwest, Oxford, Surrey and London. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Masters in HR Management, Wednesday has worked in healthcare recruitment since leaving university, having been inspired to join the care sector through a passion for helping others and giving something back to society. Wednesday joined Bluebird Care in 2020 as HR and Recruitment Officer, working her way up to secure the Group role in 2024. The focus of the Group’s recruitment strategy is to hire not just for experience, but to ensure all new team members are aligned to its core values. She is passionate about creating a friendly and welcoming experience for all those who join the company and supporting them through training and the initial weeks in their role.
Aparna Rithul - Recruitment Administrator
Aparna is the Recruitment Administrator for the Westminster & City of London, Kensington & Chelsea, and Oxford franchise businesses. She is responsible for managing the carer recruitment process, ensuring carers recruited into the team are skilled, compassionate professionals who are dedicated to making a real difference to our customer’s lives. With a Masters in Finance, Aparna is working towards a Level 5 CIPD qualification to further enhance her strong background in HR, recruitment, and finance. Prior to joining Bluebird Care, Aparna worked as a carer in a care home, a supported living facility and for other home care providers. She was drawn to develop a career in recruitment from a passion to support vulnerable adults in communities, by connecting them with a dedicated carer who can enhance their quality of life.
Valeria Priore - Senior Care Co-Ordinator
Valeria has been at Bluebird Care since 2013, having started as a Care Assistant. With a heartfelt dedication to making a difference, Valeria has been focused on developing her career in care, having been a Supervisor and Care Manager, before taking on the role of Senior Care Co-ordinator. She is passionate about making a positive difference to our customers’ lives by matching the right care team to their unique needs and preferences. With a NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management, and a Bluebird Care award winner, Valeria demonstrates care and compassion in her role focusing on making a positive difference to both our care teams and customers alike.
Sharon Van Der Ster - Probationary Care Supervisor
As Probationary Care Supervisor, Sharon is responsible for effectively guiding new carers joining Bluebird Care through their on-boarding process. She is focused on fostering confidence and competence in new joiners, to ensure they reflect our high standards of care. Throughout the on-boarding process, Sharon provides continuous support and constructive feedback, addressing any challenges they face and celebrating their successes. Her goal is to ensure that each carer delivers exceptional service to our customers, helping them to excel in their roles and contribute positively to our team’s overall success. Prior to joining Bluebird Care in 2019, Sharon worked in the voluntary sector, and was also a carer for a close family member which inspired her to seek a job in care to help make a difference to many other people.
