There are four main job roles at Bluebird Care: Care Expert and Live-in Care Expert Care Coordinator Field Care Supervisor Registered manager These job roles may vary according to the size of the business. At Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees, we all of the above including a Managing Director and our very own Recruitment Officer.

All our staff receive regular supervisions and ongoing training to enhance their existing skills and learn new ones. This is supplemented by routine annual refresher training. This can include: Dementia and other specific medical conditions such as multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, strokes, Parkinson's and end of life care Learning disabilities Mental health Autism

We support customers with all aspects of their day to day living, so they can enjoy the best possible quality of life. Each service is tailored to meet each customer’s requirements. Visits can range from a fortnightly service to once or more daily, right through to overnight or live-in care.

Being part of the Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees team is rewarding and gives great job satisfaction, but it also demands commitment and professionalism. To be a Bluebird Care Expert, it is essential you genuinely care for others and have good communication skills, especially when listening to customers. Wanting to find out more and to problem solve are key. You need to understand what the role of a Care Expert entails and be able to follow instructions.

Care experience is useful, but not always necessary as we provide full training.

To apply for a Live-in Care Expert position with Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees, you do not need to have a driving licence. However, if you are applying for a Care Expert position you will be required to have a valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle. This is because you will be expected to drive between our customers homes and, on occasion, drive customers to appointments and social events.

To ensure that you are covered for any kind of accident that may occur during your working hours, it is a requirement that you have Class 1 Business insurance on your vehicle. This is really simple to get, all you have to do is contact your motor insurance provider and request for this to be added on.

At Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees, our shift patterns are usually: 07:00 - 14:00 (AM) 14:00 - 22:00 (PM)

You won't have to work every weekend unless this is your preference. We do, however, ask that our Care Experts work alternate weekends. Alternate weekend work offers a great work life balance.

We do not currently offer any kind of sponsorship for UK-based or over-seas applicants. However, we are happy to consider applicants who are already sponsored by a different employer and are looking for part time work (up to 20 hours) within another organisation. We will ask for proof of your residency and sponsorship to confirm your Right to Work status.
