Our Live-in carers live with their customers in a spare bedroom. Placements can vary in length though most people work on a rotational basis: This can be discussed at interview stage. We do not offer placements shorter than 1 full week at a time. Every customer will have a care plan which will include personal care, food prep, medication, shopping, housework, and social support; however, our primary objective is to help them get the most out of life! Our Live-in Care Assistants are not on duty 24 hours a day and are afforded daily 2-hour breaks (covered by the local team where their customer cannot be left unattended). Live-in Care Assistants are not routinely on-call throughout the night but are expected to be able to retire once their customer is settled. Our Live-in carers are not self-employed; we are the employer, and we undertake all obligations re tax, insurance and training. Our Live-in Care Assistants also benefit from support and regular visits from a designated Supervisor only a few miles away. Who are we looking for? You need to be calm and patient with an ability to think on your feet and remain professional in occasionally stressful situations; you must respect the customer’s privacy and right to make their own choices; but above all, you need to be 100% committed to helping improve the quality of life of vulnerable people. You must have at least 1 years’ previous experience in Home Care (or other healthcare role, such as Nursing). Every successful applicant undergoes a thorough pre-work training program and receives on-going training and support throughout the duration of their employment. You must have a strong grasp of English (reading, writing, speaking) and pass cleanly thorough an Enhanced Criminal Record (DBS) check. We operate in South East London and North West Kent, so candidates should ideally be based in the South East region, though applicants from further afield will be considered. You must have a British passport, a British Ancestry Visa or the right to work in the UK. Anyone who does not genuinely care about the welfare of vulnerable people will not be suitable for this role.
