We have established a reliable and popular live-in care service. Our aim is to support people to remain independent in their own homes for as long as they choose, so we can take care of everyday tasks around our customers’ homes, all the way through to complex care needs, and including to the end of their life, on occasion, if they choose to remain at home. Your Duties and Responsibilities as a Live-in Care Assistant As a Live-In Care Assistant you will be living with one of our customers and, very occasionally, a couple. You are there to help them remain independent in their own home and cherish all the memories they’ve made there, but usually also to be their companion. Promoting health and well-being, enabling our customers to live their life to the full Meal preparation Shopping Social Outings Offering our customer's companionship Providing personal care duties, Administering medication, Moving and transferring, if required, using equipment where required, You will live with our customers for between one and two weeks, to a maximum of three weeks, before having a break of one week off and will have regular customers. If choosing to work 3 weeks, you may have 2 regular customers that you support on a regular basis. You will have a minimum of a 2 hour daily break which we are passionate about protecting. Our team work a maximum of 3 weeks (your choice from 1-2 weeks) to make sure that you are well-rested and have a good work/life balance. Our expectation is that you work a minimum of one week at a time on a regular basis. We appreciate your experience: Previous experience in a professional caring role is a requirement - 12 months'minimum. This is to ensure that you have the experience and confidence to provide the support required. Live-in Care Assistants are matched to our customers to ensure that our customers and you get along so, the most important thing to us is that you are naturally compassionate, caring and patient and can care in a professional way. Because we care about our team, we offer: Competitive rates of £760 - £825 per week (£700 in probation for those new to live-in care). We pay our post-probation rate (as indicated above) from the outset to experienced live-in carers to acknowledge your experience. £50 supplement on Bank Holidays (£100 on Christmas Day) Regular, scheduled daily breaks and a settled working pattern of 1-3 weeks working/ one week off. 2 weeks on/2 weeks off can be accommodated. Your choice on how long you work within the 1-3 week range. Daily 2 hour breaks guaranteed If you use your own vehicle for customer use, you will be entitled to 35p per mile 28 days holiday Pension scheme Your meals are provided by the customer (exceptions can be made by those on a special diet due to cultural or health needs) You will also have a separate room to stay, and relax, and access to a TV and WiFi. Purpose of role To conduct effective coordination of Care Assistants to ensure that customers receive excellent quality care and support to keep them safe and comfortable in their own homes. A supportive and calm manner together with excellent organisational and communication skills are vital to excel in this role. Key responsibility Ensure that Care Assistants are appropriately rostered and allocated to customers so that care is delivered on time, safely and in line with customers wishes (as agreed in their care and support plan) and aligns with the agreed availability of Care Assistants. To strive to achieve optimised scheduling that meets the needs of both customers and carers. Provide the customer and, where appropriate their representatives, with information about the service so they are clear about what to expect and how they can raise any concerns. Duties Liaise with the Lead Coordinator and / or Registered Manager to ensure the right number of Care Assistants, with the right skills mixes, are recruited to meet the needs of the business. Arrange cover for Care Assistant sickness, absenteeism or holidays Attend the customer's first call to introduce the care corker. Report changes to care schedules without delay to the coordinator, customer, and care assistant Support, supervise and assist with training of care assistants. Accept, allocate and process new customer referrals for care and support promptly and effectively Distribute, collect and monitor MAR charts Process changes to customers’ required care and support needs Ensure there is sufficient cover to deliver care and support to all customers on time and in alignment with their personal care plans Monitor the restoring of Care Assistants to maximise efficiency whilst supporting them to maintain an appropriate work/ life balance Schedule Care Assistants to provide care and support to customers.
