Roles and Responsibilities as a Care Assistant Providing personal care duties Administering medication Manual handling, using equipment where required Promoting customer health and well-being, enabling them to live their life to the full Your Experience and Suitability for the Care Assistant Role It’s isn’t about previous experience. We want to ensure our customer receives the very best care and to do that we need people who are naturally compassionate, caring and patient. We want a team who genuinely cares for each of our customers as if it was their own family. But don’t panic, we’ll ensure you have all the right training and development because we care for our Care Assistants. After all, they care for our customers so it’s important that you feel equipped for the role. You must have: Full, clean valid UK driving licence Access to a car Right to work in the UK Excellent level of English Use of a smart phone Because We Care About You We understand that every member of our team has their own family to care for and this is why our role offers the flexibility to work around your own home life. You can choose between full-time or part-time work; all you have to do is simply tell us your availability. Although we try to be flexible where we can, we do require you to be flexible with us too, that’s why we will require you to work alternate weekends We can’t care for our customers if we don’t take care of our team so to make this possible, we offer: An excellent rate of £12.25ph Phone and mileage allowance Full training induction and a 12-week mentor Ongoing training and support Flexible working hours. Pension scheme Free uniform But not only that, we take care of our team throughout the year, whether it's your birthday, Christmas, awards or simply because it’s a Thursday. Key Roles and Responsibilities as a Shift supervisor • Prior to each service commencing, carry out with customers (and/or their chosen representatives) an assessment of what the customer needs and what they would like to achieve from their care and support, together with a risk assessment • Create and agree a written individually tailored plan of care and support that respects the customer’s wishes and promotes their dignity and privacy. Agree appropriate risk control measures to reduce identified risks. Keep care and support plans up to date • Provide the customer and, where appropriate their representatives, with information about the service so they are clear about what to expect and how they can raise any concerns • Keep all information about customers and their families secure and confidential except where policy require you to share to protect the interests of our customers • Carry out regular reviews with customers in line with the Bluebird Care Model. Essential Caring and compassionate towards people in need of care and support and those providing these services Respect for people suffering from a range of medical conditions with different backgrounds and beliefs to your own. Commitment to anti-discriminatory care practice Self-motivated and keen to learn. Willing to seek guidance when needed and follow instructions Excellent time keeper and reliable Full and valid UK driving licence Use of your own car with business insurance Good understanding of the needs of people who require care and support at home and the principles of good care practice Relevant social care qualification, or willing to work towards gaining this qualification Understanding of what confidentiality means in relation to homecare services and why this is important Good understanding of health and safety matters in relation to homecare services and of safeguarding people at risk of harm Experience of communicating clearly and building positive working relationships with people who use social care services and social and health care professional Experience of care services Able to write clear risk assessments, care and support plans and other records Must have care experience, driving license, good ICT skills Excellent level of English Because We Care About You We understand that every member of our team has their own family to care for and this is why our role offers the flexibility to work around your own home life.
