Candidates must have: FULL DRIVING LICENCE & access to own vehicle - please note we cannot rely on public transport or cycling.FULL RIGHT TO WORK - UK passport, settled status, dependents visa etc. Key Responsibilities: As a Community Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes across Sway, Lymington, New Milton, Brockenhurst areas. Your responsibilities will include: Assisting with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Supporting with meal preparation and medication administration. Providing companionship and emotional support. Assisting customers with mobility and daily activities. Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure person-centred care is provided at all times. Our care assistants work 7am-2pm & 4pm-10pm shift patterns. There is a requirement to be flexible to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week, including alternate weekends (both Saturday and Sunday). Our Care Assistants travel home-to-home across Ringwood, Fordingbridge & Poulner areas to visit our customers and assist with daily needs. Each customer will have a tailored care plan to detail their exact needs, whether that may be medication administration/prompting, shopping trips, assisting with domestic duties around the home etc, Our care visits can start anywhere from 30-minute personal care calls to help somebody get up, washed, dressed & ready for the day. You may also have longer companionship visits where you will have the opportunity to spend quality time with your customers and encourage them to get out into the community, go shopping, go for lunch or spend time at home taking part in their favourite hobbies with them - whether its arts & crafts, board games or jigsaws! No two days will be the same as you will be meeting a variety of characters every day, but one thing is for certain and that you will be making a difference to people's lives in your local community & will find this extremely rewarding! What kind of person would make a good Care Assistant... We value life experience over previous healthcare experience (though this can certainly be beneficial). So if you have past experience in customer-facing roles (retail, hospitality, call handlers, beauticians, hairdressers etc) you may have the perfect interpersonal, communication skills that we are looking for! Also, if you are a new parent and have a strong maternal side, you may have the caring nature that would make you a perfect addition to our team. This may be a great opportunity for students needing to get hands on health & social care experience, parents looking for a flexible position they can work around childcare needs, or even if you just want a complete change from the 9-5 in the office! Previous healthcare experience is advantageous but not necessary, as we look for transferrable customer service & people skills, which you may have accumulated from working in retail, hospitality, childcare, sales & education. You will simply need to be willing to learn and really get stuck in to your new role as a domiciliary care assistant! Entry Requirements - This position is based across Hythe & Waterside areas, so you must be local & happy to travel around - Hythe, Dibden, Fawley, Blackfield, Holbury, Marchwood etc. Must have a UK driving licence & regular access to your own car. Our shift patterns are 7 am-2 pm & 4 pm-10 pm. Community Care Assistant's will need to be flexible to work 1-2 evenings a week and alternate weekends, to ensure everybody has some weekends off. Must be based in UK at point of applying and hold full right to work in UK without restriction. About the Care Assistant Role - As a Care Assistant, you will travel around the Waterside areas, to visit our customers in their own homes & support them to live as independently as possible. Each customer will have their own care plans tailored specifically to their needs; care is not a one-size-fits-all industry, so no two care visits will be the same. You will build rapport with customers & spend quality time with them to ensure they are still able to actively socialise & enjoy our company. You may take a customer out to the beach for the day or play board games with them at home. Care Assistant's make a real effort to get to know their customer & build a good relationship with them to ensure you can suggest activities that they will enjoy. Generally, other responsibilities may include - Assisting with personal hygiene – assisting customers with washing, dressing & continence care, or promoting independence and encouraging them to do these things if they can always maintain dignity & respect.
