What we do We're committed to keeping elderly and vulnerable people living in the comfort of their own homes in Gateshead, Whickham, Ryton and surrounding areas , so our carers help with anything from everyday tasks around our customers’ homes through to complex care needs. We appreciate that every customer is different, and this is why every day will be different for you as a care assistant. While many companies only pay care workers for contact time, we believe you should be paid for every minute you work, so we pay for your travel time AND mileage. This position is in the community and successful candidates need to be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle. We can’t care for our customers if we don’t take care of our team so to make this possible, we offer: An excellent rate of £12.50per hour, equivalent of over £13per hour with travel time Enhancements on bank holidays Travel time PAID for the time it takes you to travel between each call in Gateshead, Whickham, Ryton and surrounding areas . 30p mileage allowance 28 days holiday pro rata Full training induction and a 12-week mentor programme Ongoing training and support Pension scheme Mobile phone allowance Blue Light card to save you ££s Smartphone technology so you can do everything at the tap of a finger Access to industry recognised qualifications and Professional Development Staff Incentive programmes Annual bonuses Flexible working Free uniform Roles and Responsibilities as a Care Assistant Supporting customers with all aspects of: personal care medication meal preparation the use of aids and personal equipment with home management Promoting customer health and well-being, enabling them to live their life to the full Experience and Suitability for the Care Assistant Role We want to ensure our customer receives the very best care and to do that we need people who have a kind heart, caring and patient. We want a team who genuinely cares for each of our customers as if it was their own family. We’ll ensure you have all the right training and development because we care for our care workers. After all, you care for our customers so it’s important that you feel equipped for the role. Because We Care About You We understand that every member of our team has their own life outside of work and this is why our role offers flexibility. We have care staff going out to our customers in Gateshead, Whickham, Ryton and surrounding areas, between the hours of 7am and 10pm, so this is the outlined time for availability for the role. You can choose between full-time or part-time work. Although we try to be flexible where we can, we do require you to be flexible with us too, so this role does require you to work alternate weekends . We take care of our team throughout the year, whether it's your birthday, Christmas, or simply because it’s a Thursday. We’re a family and we’re here to look after you today, tomorrow and every other day after that. We are unable to offer spons0rship to applicants.
